I was born in Poland, moved to the U.S. at age 7. This has obviously influenced my life a great deal. Consequently I sometimes feel split, niether here nor there. I was brought up Polish but I was also Americanized. A lot of the time I feel out of place, and I always feel myself as different from other people around me. Which is ok because I am different but it makes me think. Makes me think where people are coming from and why they are the way they are, and how they might have come to be that way. And how their culture has influenced them. I don't consider myself any better or worse than people around me. I try to have a great respect for other people as long as they have respect for others. I also think a lot what life might have been like if I had stayed in Poland. My parents, brother, sister, and a cousin are here in the states but most of my family is in Poland. I wonder what life would have been like if I had stayed in Poland, how different I might be, what different things I might be doing, or if I would be different at all. Maybe I'm more introspective and reflective because I'm in a different country. Maybe I wouldn't work as hard at achieving goals if I wasn't in a different country. Maybe I wouldn't be so thankfull for everything I have. I haven't ever thought about moving back nor do I want to. Its just interesting to think about.
I'm also quiet and introspective. I enjoy being with friends and having fun but it takes me a long time to become comfortable with people and be myself. I enjoy getting to know people and about them. Not a lot of people at once but in small groups unless its a game or sports. I love to joke around and make humurous comments, as long as they are tastefull. I like to be around people that are kind and humerous and have a sense of respect for others but also like to have fun.
I enjoy playing any kind of sports, or outdoor activities.
As you can tell from my interests I am interested in a lot about human life and how people live and interact. And that I believe in spreading kindness, peace, love even if other people are unkind in return. Probably one of the reasons that I went into the healthcare field of work.
Lots of other things but not enough time for now.
